Reagan on the Deep State in 1975
The Tonight Show ^ | Today | Youtube

Posted on 11/24/2019 9:16:03 AM PST by DouglasKC

I ran across this interview of Ronald Reagan. It done in March of 1975. It's interesting for a few reasons...it shows him getting ready to start his push for the Presidency which happened a few years later.

But there was one very discouraging thing he said. Starting about the 5:15 mark he started talking about what we call today the deep state. A permanent employee class that actually determines policy in the United States. This was almost 45 years ago! It explains WHY today we've come to where we are and what Donald Trump is up against.

When the VP candidate slot was filled I mentioned it to a couple of people around me. I couldn’t believe he was going with that guy.

Kind of puts his assassination attempt into a new light doesn't it?

True that. The climate and goodies are just tolerable enough to put up with their crap. It’s like Wonka-land, though. The only way to go back is to go forward.

For what I can tell, Eisenhower had the dreaded Bush Disease - government is the answer.

".....is enough to say there is a Deep State, a shadow government."

Yeah, a shadow government. I remember from the late 1960's news articles about the Mount Weather facility being created as the active backup for the US civil government if the Cold War turned nuclear. It seemed to be a sensible thing to do to insure government continuity. It was even proclaimed as the home of the shadow government. Throw in technology and you have today's evil hydra.

The government in the 1950s was so much smaller than today—it is hard to imagine.

With all of that, Eisenhower realized that future government was a clear and present danger to American liberties.

It is worth reading his farewell address a couple of times—every horror he identified came true.

I like his concluding remark about comparing government budget decision making to “protecting your virtue” - “you have to learn to say no”.

Actually in March of 1975, Reagan was making a serious push for the 1976 nomination. He and his family were devastated when Ford prevailed (narrowly). Many did not think Reagan would be able to run in 1980 due to age so 1976 (at the time) was considered Reagan's last shot.

Highly recommend Larry Schiekart's biography of Reagan that just came out this year. Larry is a Freeper - Screen name "LS".

Well, then, Eisenhower was a penitent perp. Another sincerely intentioned soul who was on the wrong path.

So be it. What we need now are Patriots who KNOW the truth and will do whatever it takes to recover our Free Constitutional Republic.

Thank you— my goodness, found my eyes full of tears. Lord, miss Reagan, and Bless him wherever he is, having slipped the surly bonds of Earth.

“You have to say, No” and “Remember the answer I gave you about the cee eyyyye aaa?”

God Bless those warriors who ARE on the side of the American People, the American citizens, and please damn those who are not, the little statist denizens who do the dirty work of the Uniparty and trough eaters who have “ ...created a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance” both here and abroad. Damn you to the hell you deserve, legally delivered to you.

Yes, this was alluded to in the interview. An interesting time in Reagan's life.

Their great weakness is the fact that they have to hide what they’re doing. This tells us how to destroy them. It’s being done as we post.

I hadn’t thought of Iran Contra until just recently and that Reagan talked about the CIA back in ‘75 does make you think.
Really only two things are different between Reagan first term and Trumps.

The Internet allows information and marching orders to be issued in real time.
The GOP is much weaker than they were in ‘84.

Thus the MSM couldn’t get away with the personal assassinations they do now.
It does make you wonder how long the USA Gov Machine has been ignoring The People and simply doing what they want to do.

I suspect it has been going on since the 50’s.
