Which (JMHO) sums up this entire [BLEEP] as follows:
"Equal Justice under the law" does not now and has not for decades meant a thing but eyewash.
Get dragged into any court for anything at all and the only rule that will count is if you've got more money than the opposition to damn purchase your so-called "justice".
(My personal punchline is to assure one and all that I'll henceforth cease copying ANYTHING to put in my posts. If I don't just go into full Lurk mode and not post at all.)
Now now now...don't get all het up. Generally, if you take a couple paragraphs as a quote, you're good.
Let's turn this around. Let's make it about the ease of the reader. Is the reader owed the whole article, just laid out for them like a buffet at iHops? Or is it up to the reader to make those two or three extra clicks to go to the source to read it? Are people so paranoid about cookies, etc, that they can't be troubled to use a VPN or to clear their cookies after each session?
Sorry, I'm on the side of the writers and artists on this. Their work is their living. I don't think our ease of use should trump their wages.
