So....when McDonalds closes and moves out of the area because their employees aren’t safe, I’m guilty of racism because the people there live in a ‘food desert’?

DING...DING..DING. We have a winner, but it's not PC to say that. You know that 'food deserts' are whitey's fault.

Hey Cayuga. How you doing?

It's been a while since I've heard from you.

I think Winn-Dixie put a grocery store in a 'food desert' locally. It didn't work out if my memory is correct.

Found this:

"According to the federal data, 156 Alabama census tracts are considered food deserts, and 41 of them are in Jefferson County. Publix, Winn-Dixie, Piggly Wiggly, Cash Saver, Aldi, Save-a-Lot and Food Giant have opened stores in food deserts in Jefferson, Mobile, Montgomery and Lowndes counties, among others."
