Sorry, but I had to stop reading the article halfway through. The “threats” of AI, robotics, hyperweapons being unleashed upon the continental US applies ten-fold in the other direction. I agree that China has been allowed, even encouraged as long ago as the Clinton administration, to ‘catch up’ to us militarily. But the rest of the world is woefully vulnerable to the US. Our UAV capabilities alone allow us to strike enemies from distances and with weaponry that a generation ago was unimaginable. The idea that our high-performance aircraft are being lined up like it was a 1940 is laughable.
Encouraged is an interesting way to put it.
