I've seen this smile from abused women who finally were rid of their abusive partners.
A lot of them do not care what happens to them, ANY life would be better, even prison, without the bruises and abuse.

My niece was verbally and psychologically abused by her ex for years before she finally couldn't take it anymore and divorced him.

It didn't stop tho, he transferred the abuse to the two young daughters whenever he had visitation rights. They finally reached an age where they would make up excuses why they couldn't spend the weekends with him and ultimately cut off all ties with the jerk. They've had no contact with him for years now........
