My husband was in Frankie & Johnnie’s years ago with a date (pre-marriage!) Sinatra was seated at the bar. As they left the restaurant, Sinatra smiled widely at the date and scowled evilly at my husband. And my husband is still a huge fan, lol.
Did you mean to reply to the Harry Connick / Frank Sinatra post?
Wrong post!
Was your husband-to-be’s date, Jill Goodacre?

Although I grew up with the Beatles, Stones and that whole British invasion, I always liked Sinatra and these daze consider him to be the greatest pop singer of the 20th century. His “Live at The Sands” version of “One For My Baby” with only his personal pianist, Bill Miller, is beyond breathtaking.
A friend is a highly acclaimed mastering engineer in LA and I partnered with him on a 5-6 classic albums re-mastered and got listed on the album credits.
He has gifted me several Sinatra CDRs burned direct from the original master tape - he is a HUGE Sinatra fan, too.
Frank used an exceptional high quality German microphone (the iconic Telefunken/Neumann U47) on his classic albums as it recorded vocals with extraordinary clarity.
As it turned out, Jim Morrison (Doors) was another Sinatra fan. When the Doors walked into Sunset Recorders (IIRC) to record their first album, he immediately spotted that same U47 microphone he would be using at Sunset for his vocals.
