Can a non American born have top secret clearances today?

I once heard that American pilots born in Russia or with a wife born there could not have bomber overflight assignments within a zone near there.

In case of a war declaration they might hesitate to drop the nuclear bombs.

Someone more knowledgeable here would have to tell me if I am right or wrong about that.

When I was at MIOBC and MICCC, there were two female officers who had a HELL OF A HARD TIME securing their TS/SCI. They were both daughters of American citizens who were born overseas. One was born at Stornowary, England, and the other, Rota, Spain. Their parents were in the Air Force.

Another officer was a naturalized us Citizen from Nigeria. Last I heard he never could get his TS-SCI needed to be MOSQ'd as 35 D and 35E.

None of them were allowed as liason to the DOE/NNSA where we had to have a CNWDI "Q" clearance.
