Chances are rather high your kid still has those feelings. He’s just going to hide them from you now or bury them. They are likely to resurface at some point in his life. But he’s certainly not going to go back to you when they do. He’ll seek out friends or a psychologist.

I guess it’s choice that parents make - indulge their fantasies and let them ruin their lives when they’re young, or give them a chance to grow up normal and, later, make stupid decisions if they please. I think, in most cases, the kids simply outgrow those fantasies, which seems to be the case here.
