Vegan fanatics in Florida starved their toddler to death by feeding him a diet of just raw fruits and veggies.
Cops say that Sheila O’Leary, 35, and Ryan O’Leary, 30, face charges of manslaughter and child neglect in the Sept. 27 death of their 18-month-old son.
According to the Fort Myers News-Press, the baby weighed just 17 pounds when he died on Sept. 27.
Sheila O’Leary called 911 reporting that her boy was cold and not breathing. Her hubby reportedly made efforts to resuscitate the boy but became desperate when those efforts failed.
The malnourished boy was pronounced dead at the couple’s Cape Coral home on Florida’s Gulf Coast.
Sheila O’Leary told cops the family was vegan and that she fed her four children a raw food diet that included mangoes, rambutans, bananas and avocados.
She reportedly added that the boy had not eaten solid food in more than a week but said he was being breastfed. The family believed the tot wasn’t eating because he was teething.
On Nov. 6, a medical examiner deemed the cause of death as malnutrition and both parents surrendered to police.
They are currently in the Lee County jail, with bond set at $250,000.
The couple is slated to be arraigned Dec. 9.
Is it really the fault of the parents that the kid refused to live a SUSTAINABLE lifestyle? What are parents supposed to do?

My wife’s DIL is an ardent vegan. She is a far Left Loon and control freak. Her husband, a cuckold if there ever was one. He used to be a steak and rib eating guy, now on the rare occasion when he eats a hamburger with the guys, he goes home and confesses and ask forgiveness. Yes that is a true story. Anyway we were very worried when she got pregnant. She had a decent OBGYN who kept her filled up with supplements to meet her nutritional needs. Once the baby was born she continued to force the vegan eating agenda on the baby. Somewhere along the line she softened up on that somewhat. Don’t know who got to her, but she now allows some cheese and fish. Thankfully the granddaughter is now 5½ and seems healthy and bright. So hopefully she has dodged a bullet.
I’ve never figured out whether people become vegans because they aren’t wired to code or being a vegan makes you nuts.
No doubt who they voted for.

Poor baby. The parents are ignorant. A vegan diet and a only raw food diet are not the same thing. My nephew is a vegan and he eats plenty of cooked food.
Vegans eat cooked food. They are careful to make sure to get enough nutrients and proteins. I assure you that these kooks are not typical Vegans at all.

My daughter (age 14) is a vegan, and she’s not a moron or a liberal (sorry for the redundancy.) She had some food intolerance issues and finally decided she felt better when she didn’t eat meat or dairy.
I was initially concerned, but she had a couple of health issues that have improved since the switch, doctors have said she’s doing great, and she eats a wide variety of foods (some of which I can identify.)
Not a very balanced diet need green leaf vegetables and squash for calcium. Legumes for protein. vegans need to watch out for low vitamin B6. You can be a vegan on potato chips and coke cola.
I don’t understand Vegans. Predators have a certain enzyme that allows them to digest meat. Should lions in a zoo be fed a vegan diet. It simply against nature to be a vegan!!!
‘Vegan’ is a social club, not a medical necessity. She might have SOME allergies but to go into the social club isn’t smart. It is extremely left-wing.
They do this to their own pets too. It is a mental illness.
