“ I think the NFL held this little charade to avoid a lawsuit.”

Avoid a lawsuit?

The NFL already paid Kaepernick a settlement in his suit against them for collusion.

The NFL did pay that POS, but he began making noise again about discrimination, blacklists, etc., so what is easier - let him have a workout, or fight another lawsuit? Keep in mind that the previous one, Goodell folded right away.

I think the League already “did it’s deal” with Kaepernick & his lawyers. So I think the only reason that the NFL is willing to arrange this workout is to give cover to the teams who really have an interest. I think Kaepernick may get a contract offer for next year and an invitation to Training Camp. This year is out.
