Looked up Frogmore Cottage. The Duck and Doochess of Sussex now live there. Next door to the royal burial ground.

Why does none of this impress me?

None but her. She said on camera “two times”. Couldn’t believe it.

Well...they only sort of "live there", since people who live around that area claim that they never see them there, lights on in the building, etc.!

A little history of Frogmore Cottage..... Queen Charlotte, King George III's wife, used it as a wee get-away.

Queen Victoria HATED the place, due to the immense number of frogs and toads constantly making noise and being underfoot. She hardly ever went there and so it was remodeled into several separat "houses"....FOR THE HELP! LOL

When Sparkles fell preggers, she refused the apartment ( and it's a HUGE one, but quite near the one the Cambridges have )in Kensington Palace offered her and instead, demanded to be put up in BUCKINGHAM PALACE!

Instead of that, QE III sent them off to Frogmore, which even though MILLIONS OF POUNDS of mostly taxpayer money was spent on it, to make it into one large house, it's STILL kind of an "exile" and nothing to be "impressed" by!

Obviously she was far MORE interested in which tiara she was going to wear ( she was NOT allowed to have the one that she had wanted! )than the veil; though it has always been extremely obvious that when she isn't picking out what to wear, the outfit is more or less appropriate, but still NEVER really fits her correctly.

A lot of what she says, publicly, is scripted and "rehearsed"!

If I understand the law of royal succession, Queen Elizabeth cannot choose her successor and Chuckie the Bewitched will become sovereign upon her passing (which could be a decade away).

I wonder if Her Majesty has already penned her final testament about being Queen for seventy years, watching Britain slide downhill from WWII defender of freedom to today’s Muslim infested Oceania where free speech is punished and the royal family cavorts from one scandal to another.

The noble exception who is never heard from is Princess Anne, who has a resume of accomplishments a mile long and is a champion of civic causes.

We’re not done for yet, but I am afraid Britain is now its own slow motion Titanic. What’s slowing our decline is the Second Amendment. I’m single issue on this topic.

Just breaking: monthly NICS are setting new records, again. Dems come out for confiscation and Virginia just flipped blue and panicked buyers head for the gun stores & stock up on ammo.

Glad I’m on this side of the pond.

Until very recently ( like a year or two ago, when it was changed, so that Princess Charlotte now succeeds her brother, Prince George, should he die without issue ), the Rule of primogeniture was the rule, so yes, Charles is next in line, when QE II dies. Then comes Wills, followed by Prince George, Princess Charlotte,Prince Louis ( followed by any other children Wills and Catherine might have ), and then, should ALL of those people die, WITHOUT ISSUE, it's the damned DIMWIT Harry.

No Brit king or queen EVER writes such a thing, as you suggested.

Having visited the UK many times over, since 1967, as an eyewitness, I can truthfully say that the changes in that nation are not just shocking, but disgusting and frightening. And we aren't all THAT far behind them; though neither they nor us is a badly off as Germany, France, and ALL of the Scandinavian countries.

You’ve seen a lot of Britain and catalogued the ravages since 1967. I’ve never been and now have little desire to. To get arrested for criticizing Islam is not a tourist draw.

It must be hardest for those Britons who remember the Queen’s coronation.

Do you keep up with Tommy Robinson and Katie Hopkins? IMO they are the bravest man and the bravest woman in Britain.

Do you suppose the Queen keeps a diary?

The first time I went to London and some of its environs, I did so as sort of a tourist; though one who already knew a very great deal about the UK.

Then my best friend from college moved there and so, my subsiquant trips were more like an "insider" visit...even though we did do some touristy things as we brought our progeny with us. And now, said progeny, as adults, no longer go with us. OTOH...I no longer want to nor have we gone back, in a while; I've no desire to be 1)stabbed 2)have acid thrown on me 3) worry about NO GO ZONES, 4)be set upon by the remoaners/luvvies/anti-Brexiteers/anti-Trump/LUNATIC CLIMATE freaks!

In 1967 London was safe, no matter WHERE you were, no matter what time it was. The streets were safe, clean, and quiet; even though yes, it was at the height of the "SWINGING 60s"!

As the decades flew by, it became less safe, less clean, and finally, now, it is over run with Muslims, gypsies ( they use children as Fagan did, in Oliver Twist...which became obvious in the '80s and is now even worse ) black gangs, Paki gangs, and worse...the Millenial, and old hippy faaaaaaaaaaaaar lefty goons.

ENGLAND IS NO LONGER ENGLAND; ESPECIALLY IN LONDON.

Yes, I do follow/know all about Tommy Robinson and Katie Hopkins.

I suspect that QE II has kept diaries since early childhood; Prince Charles does ( and showed some off, on T.V., in which he has done some watercolors, as did Queen Victoria! ); it is, apparently, what many of the ROYALS do.

It’s not just the Royals who keep journals/diaries.

Many, many lawyers, politicians, embassy officials, corporate elites and well-healed private citizens keep journals/diaries.

Their off spring are taught from childhood to keep journals/diaries to prepare them for doing it in adulthood.

Justice Kavanaugh’s father instilled that in him using calendars/journals.

And we as American citizens need to utter thanks of praises to the Lord God for that man’s foresight.

True, very true!

Diary/journal keeping is something Americans used to do ( some still do ); however, my conversation with another poster was solely about Queen Elizabeth II and nobody else! I threw in Charles and Queen Victoria, because keeping a diary is something that the kings & queens of the UK have been doing this for many 100s of years; even before there was a UK and/or Brit Empire.

Aristos and yes, commoners have kept diaries, on both sides of the Pond, for centuries as well.

And not THAT long ago, American girls, of most social strata, started to keep diaries from around 11 years old onwards; sometimes boys too. As a matter of fact, I still have MY old 5 year diary, from those long ago gone days. LOL

I thought from the way you wrote about journals/diaries that you were well informed. :)

For several periods of my life I kept journals. It was a wonderful way of expressing my views without putting my foot in my mouth in public.

LOL

Thank you for your kind words; much appreciated!

Diary/journal keeping has always been a great way of putting one's thoughts to paper, so to speak and it's supposed to be "PRIVATE"; unlike today's stupid BLOGS/Instagram/etc. wherein the writer is more often than not just attempting to garner praise and/or show off.Today's blogs are not about "private thoughts and feelings, nor are they really even about truth, or the mundane; unlike diaries/journals.

And it actually really IS all the mundane stuff and our private thoughts that matter, because later on in life, our memories are triggered by the reading of that long ago person we all once were and we can laugh and cry and maybe measure our growth, by reading a few old passages. :-)

And you're correct about how very well Kavanaugh's old journals served him later on in life!
