“not only are mass murders seeming more frequent”
—
In the majority of shootings on school property it’s not a Charles Whitman thing, but one student’s fight with another that erupts in gunfire and yer garden variety street gang hits. But such instances are lumped in with the nutcase killers to pad the numbers to make them seem larger than they are.
Agreed, but I am NOT talking about regular thug shootings with incidental victims. Hence why I state TRUE mass murders. I still think they are UP, at least as far as frequency. # of events, not just “actual killed” which could be extremely unfortunate or lucky, all chance, so isn’t very informative.
I'm old enough to remember the Austin Texas Tower Shooter who killed a total of 15 or 16 people from the observation deck of the University of Texas tower. It was the year I graduated high school.
He was considered one of the first mass murderers in the country's recent history. He appeared normal but had documented mental health problems and even had a small tumor in his brain that might have contributed to his deadly massacre.
I believe he murdered his mother and his wife before starting on his rampage on the Austin campus.
