As a professor in beef cattle sciences at a major land grant university I loathe the concept of this fake meat rollout.
Why do they insist on referring to it as a meat substitute and go so far as to portray it for what real meat is?
My patronage to Burger King (albeit infrequent) is over. Dunkin Donuts with their fake pork rollout is over for me as well.
I am worried about the dark days ahead. The younger generations are in for a reality check on many fronts.

9 carbs in an impossible burger, real beef has 0. Keto dieters eat on target 20 carbs a day. Impossible beef will not fit well in a Keto or low carb diet.
Explosive diarrhea, weeping anus and other means of body rejection.
My fear is they will start to slip this crap in instead of beef without telling you.
Bad news for Diabetics that won’t be able to handle the carbs.
Fake meat patty has 9 carbs vs real meat patty with 0 carbs.
The fake meat contains 20 ingredients vs real meat patty with 1 ingredient.
They took the coconut oil out of movie popcorn because it was supposed to be bad for you but now they’re adding it to fake meat.
The standing joke in my family for years has been there there must be some kind of skinless turkey, because by the time that Thanksgiving Turkey gets to the table, unless my mother stood guard with a knife, it would be completely denuded of the crispy skin by hungry passerby in our family! Yeah. A turkey with no skin wouldn't make the grade, no matter how turkey-like the meat tastes. These people are deranged.
It is like telling the ones who drive electric cars that they are driving coal-fired cars!
I know, I fear the same. We eat low carb for my diabetic husband. Unless people look to see the nutritional facts, they could believe this is a healthier option.
The inventor said he came up with it to combat climate change because cows are a contributor.
I prefer a grilled portobello or a salmon patty to a hamburger, and I’ve had good veggie burgers that didn’t pretend to be meat.
But give me real steak, kebab, roast, anyday.

My wife and I and our dog eat at Burger King at least once a week. We almost always use the same coupon, which gives us two Whoppers, two fries, and two soft drinks for $8.99. Their print ad and their "app" has repeatedly had this coupon for months. All Burger Kings are not created equal and fortunately we have a really good one near us.
We like to use our own smoker and grill, but it is amazing how Burger King's flame broiling machine gives their meat a very good flavor. When you consider the cost of the ingredients, the time and the effort it takes to grill up a couple of your own burgers... it is just a huge time saver for about the same expense when using a coupon.
When the meatless Whopper came out, our local Burger King had lines of people waiting to try it. I was glad for them because they were obviously making a good profit on the hype. The thing that disturbed me however, was that the smoke coming from the machine had a different odor and this affected the flavor of our normal Whoppers. Fortunately he meatless Whopper craze died down within a couple of weeks and now they sell so few of them that the taste of our normal Whoppers is back to normal. If they have a special on them, where they do not cost any more than a normal Whopper... I will give one a try to see if you really cannot tell the difference or if it is at least edible to me. My wife used to have me grill up “garden burgers” for her and I was not enamored with them.
cows have been turning plants in to meat forever... why mess with a process that works?
I predict Science that is actually science.
salted in a big pile of speculation that is claimed to be science.
I’ve never understood vegans and vegetarians. And I have several friends you are such.
If vegetables are so good, why do they keep trying to develop meat substitutes? Why does meat taste so good, anyway? Do they ever ask themselves that question?
Real people eat meat!
Soylent Green is people.
It's not supposed to be good for you, silly. It's good for the erf, since cows cause global warming and stuff. You don't matter at all to GW cult.
Our billionaire despot marxist betters are still going to eat the real deal
Soylant Green. Tomatoes are for the betters running society, not the grunts.
