I got to meet Billy and Dusty by chance when I was 15 years old. Several of Us went to the Souter Brothers Funny Car Race Shop after Work one night. We were hanging out after work one Saturday and suddenly there was somebody beating on the Shop door. The Owner went to see who it was and comes back around the corner of the office with 2 Guys behind Him.
We were introduced to Billy and Dusty and suddenly We realized who they were. They were just out and in the area so they stopped by to see how things were going with the Drag Racing. We were all caught off guard but had a great time drinking beers and just hanging out talking about Racing.
It was one of those “Brushes with Greatness” moments for Us.
