The United States is seriously concerned by continued attacks against protestors, civic activists, and the media, as well as restrictions on Internet access, in Iraq. Iraqis wont stand by as the Iranian regime drains their resources and uses armed groups and political allies to stop them from peacefully expressing their views. Despite being targeted with lethal violence and denied access to the Internet, the Iraqi people have made their voices heard, calling for elections and election reforms. The United States joins the UN Assistance Mission to Iraq in calling on the Iraqi government to halt the violence against protesters and fulfill President Salihs promise to pass electoral reform and hold early elections. We also call on the rest of the international community to join us in supporting a better future for the Iraqi people.
I’ll tell you one thing the diplomatic staff at the US Embassy doesn’t object to, the Iraqi’s using any means necessary to prevent the protesters from entering the “Green Zone”. Nothing would be happening to these Iraqi Millenials if they didn’t try getting into that neighborhood. While they’re protesting for the right reasons, also be careful what you wish for and pay attention to the, Do Not Enter signs. In Iraq, that sign could be a T72 tank, M1 Abrams tank, an MRAP, APC, HMVV with belt fed machine gun on top, Russian APC(if there are any left), or just a unit of Iraqi military guarding a road or bridge.
They police/military in Iraq don’t get dressed up in riot gear and do the Stomp&Drag. They grab their AK, RPKs, PKMs and squeeze the trigger.
Had Obozo done his job, Iran would not be in Iraq or Syria. Obozo intentionally allowed ISIS to form and grow exponentially.
