A Milwaukee man was charged with a hate crime on Wednesday for allegedly throwing battery acid on a Hispanic man in a suspected racist attack, authorities said.
Clifton Blackwell, 61, was charged with first degree reckless injury, use of a dangerous weapon and a hate crime after video appeared to show him dousing a man with acid during an argument over the victim's immigration status, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Mahud Villalaz, 42, said Blackwell confronted him on Friday, complaining about how he parked his vehicle. A surveillance camera captured the scary encounter on video, showing the suspect raising his hands and pointing in Villalaz's face right before he splashed him with the liquid.

I hope the charges are the same if the situation were reversed, but I have a sinking feeling they would not be.
I hate made up crimes.
It’s enough of a crime to assault someone like that and intend to cause that kind of bodily injury. They don’t need to add made up crimes to it.
Did anyone else notice that the victim spat in the face of the acid thrower just before the toss?

Although this happened in at least one era before —the Chicago gangster 1930s—I shuddered when I heard of the revival trend of new cases in Europe in the past couple of years.
The fact this monster did this could cause weak minded fools to copy him and weaker minded media to say “see how bad the right wingers are, go get ‘em.” Disastrous.
Some crimes like this one are more heinous than others and this type could spread to all leftists and Antifa thugs and we will all be vulnerable.
Like the brutal killing of the family by the gang in Mexico, some crimes rise to the “now the line has been crossed” factor.
The jury will throw Mr. Blackwell off a Cliff.

In the state pen, Clifford is going to have to turn in his bottle of acid for a shank. However, I don’t think he will hold up all that well in the lunch line.

I’ve gotten battery acid over myself, but it wasn’t an earth-shaking, permanently disfiguring experience. I washed it off and can’t say I felt any permanent effects, other than skin that was a little dry. The guy’s a bit of a dipstick, but I’d say misdemeanor at best. I bet the soft spot is between the top of the nose and the bottom of that forehead plate. A .45 from fifteen feet should do the job.
Maybe the perp did not want to do acid.
Not saying he was a saint. Just observing that there might be more to the story. Heck, maybe it was his concealed weapon for protection and felt his life was in danger after he was spat on.
Ok, maybe not. But there still was something more within the exchange that isn’t being mentioned.
Nothing worse than an attack with racist acid... Or did the author mean rancid acid?
