After the 2016 election I checked the voting map and in Virginia the blue areas were basically the metropolitan areas and large college towns.
Northern Virginia is heavily populated and on the national elections they seem to carry the state because that population is blue.
The rural areas are for the most part red and that helps to stave off the state going totally Democrat at the state legislator level.
You all seem to not get that there are NO statewide races here in VA. Everyone knows that northern VA is blue. But we’re all voting by region in this election. Doesn’t matter if a million northern VA libs are voting 90% D in Arlington. There are no statewide races for this election.
