The clock is ticking faster now. Beto crashed miserably; Kamala’s giggling high-school schtick is embarrassing herself and others; the DNC has run out of handlers for Biden’s frequent episodes; Bernie is still yelling at trees; and now Warren has outed her plan to tax everyone into oblivion to fund her $52 trillion, yes TRILLION, healthcare scheme.
Hence, the New York Times jumps into action… Buttigieg is now their latest hope. Quick dispatch all immediate narrative engineers to the typeset:

The survey is full of alarming signs for Mr. Biden, who entered the race in April at the top of the polls in Iowa and nationally. He is still in the lead in most national polls, but his comparatively weak position in the earliest primary and caucus states now presents a serious threat to his candidacy.
With the Iowa caucuses just three months away, Mr. Biden’s unsteadiness appears to have opened a path in the race for other Democrats closer to the political middle, particularly Mr. Buttigieg.

The DNC relies on Wall Street/Hollywood donor funding. Warren is a non-starter, and Sanders is ‘all-in’ for socialism. Even Teh One, Obama, is warning about the political nonsense behind the woke movement from his new $15 million mansion on Martha’s Vineyard.
By the end of the month they’ll have a bumbling Biden eating baby food through a straw as he’s wheeled on stage with a lanyard full of acrylic reminder cards: “Joe, you’re in Iowa”…
The club is now moving to Buttigieg.
If famously horrible Amy Klobuchar can quit cursing and screaming at her staff over their forgetting to pre-open the 42.5° Perrier bottles, she might stand a chance next.

I think Buttigieg would kill the ticket's chances whether he is first or second on the ticket. People may not admit it to pollsters but I can't see enough people voting who seems to think that being homosexual makes him more qualified to be President, who sanctimoniously attacks Christians for following the Biblical view of homosexual behavior, and whose executive experience is being a lousy mayor of a small city.
Great. Let the Dems nominate him.
He will be easy to beat in 2020.

State Filing Deadlines for the 2020 Presidential Election:
I guess Hillary and Michelle Obama could let the Arkansas and Alabama deadlines pass here in November; but December 2 through 9 deadlines are Illinois, California and Texas, with Ohio close behind.
That, and the necessity of raising money to actually organize, hire staff and compete in these primaries - basically the decision to run for a particular candidate has to happen this week to ramp up and be on the stage at the November 20 Democrat debate; and to get on ballots and actually meet these deadlines.
Mayor Pete is the most likeable of the bunch.
Not only name recognition, Hunter has solid business credentials and experience, too. He’s built some great companies in the energy field.

Hillary won’t run. She’s a “parachute” candidate. If the party wants her, she’s ready to serve but she won’t go through the indignity of running in the primaries for the nomination.

imho, therein lies the problem...I think Buttigieg is FAR LEFT but he talks a good show, a la Pres Obama, and “sounds” more reasonable than many of the others. Again, imho, Beto wasn’t smart enough to ‘fool’ a lot of people but Mayor Pete is smart(a/k/a devious) and a smooth talker.

Just watched a video on Facebook where apparently Biden got turned around and was talking to the back screen. He thought he was looking at the crowd. Complete failure. He apparently is close to legally blind.
Apparently a lot of people “beat” Pete’s butt on a regular basis. That is why his crime-ridden city is called Benderover, Indiana.
