I was running a lot back then and eventually the body started breaking down. Shin splints, then doctor prescribed orthotics which never helped, then Chondromalacia patellae in the knee and ultimately lower back pain. I finally gave up running and kept drinking beer and smoking cigarettes. At age 69 I'm doing pretty damn well.......LOL!

I’m 58 and had both hips replaced. Not do to running on hard surfaces though, Maybe football in high school. Rheumatoid Arthritis. Now my knees are going. Still moving though, thanks to “opiods” and steroids like Prednisone (corticosteroids, not anabolic steroids)
