Hey, I won't wash toilets for a living either and I'm neither Jewish, Arab nor Muslim. Why should I if I don't have to?
The no-wash story was reiterated by Jewish sources, saying, basically, what I said. I can feel your antagonism but you really have to SEE it to believe it. I know, it's MUCH easier to sit here, safe and far away, and condemn what you think you know.
I don't blame you. I felt the same way until I SAW what we saw.
Mind you, I wouldn't go back there for a million bucks but I believe that every Christian should visit the HOLY LAND once in his life. It is UNBELIEVABLE!
You know, the Romans took down Mount Calvary in the 4th century so Jesus' tomb is less that 20 feet from where the Cross had been atop Calvary.
At that time we were allowed to enter Jesus' tomb--two at a time-for just a couple of minutes. I put my HAND on the tomb of our Savior, the SON of GOD.
Expensive? Of course it is; it's FAR away. It's the HOLY LAND, where Jesus lived, preached, died and saved us from our sins!
Washing toilets for a living is actually not that hard. And no, this is stereotyping.
BTW, the “reiterated by Jewish sources” line is another worn-out antisemitic trope.
