It’s apparent now that myopia is the biochemical response loop to the average focal length being presented to the eye over long periods of time and the process is moderated by the scene generated in sunlight with the relevant “focus at infinity” that goes along with ordinary outdoor activity.
What’s still not clear is how long this lasts. Does it shut down once you stop growing? Is it reversible at older age, or can you only prevent, not cure it?
Lot of different opinions. Hard to get medical facts because there isn’t a lot of research going to prevention or curing, both of which used to be thought of as impossible.

Also, if your dopamine increases while your vision improves, you may not need dangerous anti depressants.
Many if not most patients don’t want simple advice like this, they want some potent drug or heavy duty exercise program led by a sadistic bully.
