Gene Eliza Tierney (November 19, 1920 November 6, 1991) was an American film and stage actress. Acclaimed as a great beauty, Tierney was best known for her portrayal of the title character in the film Laura (1944), and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as Ellen Berent Harland in Leave Her to Heaven (1945).
Tierney's other roles include Martha Strable Van Cleve in Heaven Can Wait (1943), Isabel Bradley Maturin in The Razor's Edge (1946), Lucy Muir in The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947), Ann Sutton in Whirlpool (1949), Maggie Carleton McNulty in The Mating Season (1951), and Anne Scott in The Left Hand of God (1955).

“Laura is the face in the misty light ....”
A true beauty, as was Merle Oberon and Lucille Ball.
One of my favorite movies is “Son of Fury” with Tyrone Power. She played Eve, the island girl.
Unfortunately, TCM doesn’t show it often.
Her Elli May in “Tobacco Road” is really good.
I’m sure I saw at least a couple of those movies a long time ago, and don’t remember much about them. When I read her name in the title I thought about Hawkeye Pierce who said in one episode of MASH how he was attracted to her because of her overbite.
I’m sure Alan Alda said it funnier than I just did.
There are a lot of old films you can watch on YouTube and if you have a smart tv its easy otherwise connect your phone to your tv via hdmi . But if TCM owns them its no good.
She was a beauty.
Dragonwyck with Vincent Price was good...
She just made the Liszt.
She suffered from depression and some of the depression may have resulted from the birth of her daughter Daria, who was deaf, partially blind and mentally disabled, the result of a fan breaking a rubella quarantine and infecting the pregnant Tierney while she volunteered at the Hollywood Canteen.
Be still my heart...
Very beautiful woman, one o f the most beautiful in my opinion) and good actress- too bad depression got the better of her
