Well actually you couldn’t be more wrong. I mean seriously, there are a 120 teams in Divison I, 150 in Division II and about 250 in Division III. And what 20 Pro Teams vs 500 college teams.
Granted a few college players go to the pro’s but the overwhelming vast majority are there for the full ride scholarships. If this little group of elite players foul it up for the other Tens of thousands of players it will be pretty sad. It would be better to get them out of the Academic area altogether and start a farm system.
The revenues are used to pay for other sports programs like track, woman’s sports, and other men’s sports and on and on.
“... It would be better to get them out of the Academic area altogether and start a farm system. ...”
Yes it would be!
And that what should be done.
“...revenues are used to pay for other sports programs like track, womans sports, and other mens sports and on and on......”
If they are that important academia should pay for them.
They could be club sports. I did rugby & lacrosse as club sports and had fun, stayed in shape, partied, etc.
