I found an auger bit at our local garden store that attaches to our drill. It bored holes big enough for the daffodil bulbs. Hubby drilled 80 holes, put in some bone meal, the bulbs and covered them up just on Saturday. We used a smaller auger nit for crocus bulbs. He drilled 80 holes and we planted them! Then I went to a local big grocery store and bought the biggest container of cayenne pepper they had. I spread that over the ground where the bulbs are to prevent the squirrels from feasting on them.
