Adopting a kitty that REALLY needs a loving home will help, I had to put my 18 yr old to sleep 3 weeks ago OMG just thought I was going to ache forever!! Last week I went to the shelter and adopted a kitty, it of course is not the same, HOWEVER having another kitty crawling on my keyboard, meowing to be fed, jumping on EVERYTHING in the house has helped me SO MUCH, this kitty is SO GRATEFUL to be out of that cage and he has repaired my heart!!! His name is LUCKY because he is very lucky I chose him, I actually wanted to take them ALL home !!!!! LOL!!!
Three of our four cats (all old) died within the last 7 months. Words do not describe the pain and sadness Mr. Roo Roo and I have felt.
The last cat we had to euthanize died on July 22nd. Even though we still have one cat, it does not help the pain of losing the others.
Even though my heart wasn’t totally in it, last Friday I adopted two litter-mate kittens, a boy and a girl, 2 months old. Even though I still miss my old cats terribly, these kittens have stolen my heart and make us laugh when we couldn’t before.
I got the kittens from the local ASPCA shelter. I read recently that 71% of cats in shelters don’t find homes, get put to sleep. Black cats in particular have a hard time finding homes because people can be superstitious (especially Hispanics).
So even though my heart is still heavy, I believe the new kittens are the antidotes Mr. Roo Roo and I needed.
