With the announcement of the investigation becoming criminal and to put a positive spin on things in the midst of the FrEores and Lucy football memers, I offer a lighthearted alternative.
...a happy song about hanging.
Best to listen with a hot cup of coffee.
I also enjoy ‘No Quarter’.
When the levee breaks, momma, you gotta move...
Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - Black Dog (AMAZING...and better than LZ’s version)

I like’em all but that album is one of their best!
That was great!
Freeping, Fresh squeezed orange juice, Lox and bagles (w/ capers), coffee and Gallows Pole.
Reminds me of a quote from Simone in Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
“No matter where you are, that’s the place to be”
No Quarter is a great song on a great album.
I listed to Houses of the Holy all the time in college (vinyl).
You got that right.
The Deep State Strikes Back: Maria Butina Released and Deported to Russia
Interesting how many covers of the song have been recorded since 1920.

Thanks for that info.
So I dug a little deeper.
Original recording by Bentley Ball, “The Gallows Tree” 1920.
Says he was a typewriter salesman, singer and author. He made the first commercial cowboy recordings.

Back when automobile horns were actually loud, I saw Led Zeppelin at the Baltimore Civic Center around 1972.
Their fourth album had just come out which was Houses of the Holy..
Anyways, I think they played every song on every album at that concert, there was an acoustic middle set that they pulled a lot of material off their third album.
To this day I think that was one of the best concerts I’ve ever attended, maybe not the best but it was really good, and that old Baltimore Civic Center was a great place to listen to live music because the acoustics were absolutely great in a time when sound systems that bands used at large venues were just coming forward techologically.
I caught probably 10 concerts at the Baltimore Civic Center, and they were all memorable.
The Old Alexandria roller rink was another venue that sounded really good and for some reason the old Georgetown University gymnasium had a great acoustical sound as well.
Saw them in concert 10-12 years when they did a tour. Was just great. Battle of Evermore was just made for them, and Allison’s band, even though it wasn’t, if you get my drift. Can’t find a decent YouTube of it, they all seem to be people holding cell phones.
Alison Krauss & Shawn Colvin did an amazing cover of “The Boxer” during a tribute to Paul Simon - even better than S&G’s original.
Also features Jerry Douglas (dobro) & the great Steve Gadd (drums).

That did it.
Thanks,

That's also on Douglas's solo album Traveler. He called in a few friends to help out - Eric Clapton, Paul Simon, Alison Kraus, Mumford and Sons. And yeah, I agree, it's better than the original.
Never saw that. Pretty awesome!
