I think the generation of the War of Independence is the “Greatest Generation”, with Washington, the Indispensable Man, as the greatest American.

I agree. The founding generation was one of, if not the, greatest generations in all of human history. I don’t know why so many people buy into Brokaw’s “greatest generation” propaganda.
