also, you already use cordless phones. You wont need splitters with MJ (Not sure why you need splitters now)?
Connect MJ to the router and the base to MJ. Once the base is connected the other cordless phones just get plugged into an electric socket and get paired with the base.
I think I am going to step out of this conversation as I am sure I am missing something.

As I wrote in the OP, my computer is wirelessly connected to the Internet via a modem/router on a different floor,

One goes to the cordless phone base, and another to a enhanced wired LL phone, and one other line to a Caller I.D. box (quicker than using that on the cordless phone), and as said, one goes to a PC modem with shows and records the Called I.D. of incoming calls and time (and can zap teller marketeers). All of which is more convenient

Again, the router is on a different floor, and so having to plug MJ to the router there and receive calls upstairs (without running a cord to there) would require a different set of cordless phones, for as said, the system I am looking to provide for now is supplemental.
