This is a bankruptcy sale, not a criminal proceeding.
That doesn’t seem to be what it’s saying. The Feds are holding the property and charging them to hold that property. They then “agreed” to sell in order to avoid incurring “further expenses.”
This happened to a buddy of mine where the feds took his computers and made him pay for the honor of having the data copied if he wanted them back. They also confiscated his personal jet, multiple houses and cars despite no conviction.
