Dead is dead
If the brain is dead, their child is no longer there
The rest is but a shell.
Do with it as you see fit

Ask the child what he would want for himself.
See through his eyes
Would he want his family to continue suffering?

Board certified Neurologist with 33 years of hospital based community service
A Neurologist would know...
I have seen too much suffering...

What does that mean? Does it mean people who want to live despite life-threatening injuries, just want their families to suffer?

My husband fought very hard for his life after a massive stroke. He didn’t do that out of a desire to make us suffer. He genuinely wanted to live. Most people do. Even those who have previously stated they wouldn’t want to live with certain disabilities. Brain damage, blindness, paralysis, or any other disability, when it comes right down to it, most people will do whatever it takes to get that last breath. And it’s not because they want their families to suffer. It is human nature to want to live. It isn’t something to be ashamed of.
