“The superintendent said today’s students have more body image issues than previous generations”
Thanks Hollywood for the bang up job done on youth self esteem these days.
...Thanks Hollywood...

No support for Hollywood from me, but I blame the Internet and social media.
Everyone poses and uses extreme makeup techniques (many originated in South Korea)to present as clones of whatever is being touted as *hot* for *all* genders. Even the physically challenged and less-than-attractive are encouraged to show off their bodies and genitals. The predictable results from judgemental teens/twenty-nothings become extremely bullying.
I believe that even the most physically attractive young people from the 60s-80s would not succeed in meeting today’s *standards* among their peers. I see reports all the time of young people whom I judge as attractive being told how ugly and disgusting they are on social media. Some end in suicide; others end in some sort of bizarre body modification.
The young people themselves have created this milieu.
I watch some movies and a lot of TV series on Netflix, so I see them months, sometimes years after they are released. So far, all I’ve picked up on is that casting directors tend to choose actors who all look alike. Sometimes, it’s confusing to the plot and difficult to keep them straight. But the real culprit is the trend to selfies and the makeup tutorials that result in this uniform physical presentation.
Let a single young person simply present themselves as they are and the entire tribe will descend upon them with venom.
Translation: Boy howdy, are they fat!
