I went to see “Ad Astra” on the hope that Hollywood would finally do a good SciFi without all the stupid.
Nope...probably Brad Pitt’s worst acting ever and almost as flawed script as “Last Jedi”

Beautiful visuals. Incredibly accurate science except 1 G on Mars and the moon. Weak plot. Lots of long stares to indicate meaning and conspiracy, too much time emoting instead of acting or doing things. They could have cut out 20 minutes and improved it.
Not sure what I think of a plot that is a lonely, emotionally distant man essentially screaming to the universe “Daadddddyy ....” upon learning he’s alive. And that he has to let go of the father he just found again.
I can’t tell if the movie is supposed to be a metaphor for fathers who abandon their kids or just bad writing.

Thanks! Was thinking of seeing Ad Astra.

You saved me some $$$!

Will spend it on the new Zombieland.

I thought Ad Astra was horrible. Joker was okay. I hope Joaquin Phoenix’s acting earns him an Oscar but I wouldn’t rate the movie itself that high.
