D’afternoon. I just took Pat to school. Now we have a couple of hours before it’s time to leave for Kathleen’s riding lesson.
Vlad is going to bake a cake. Then I’ll cook some sausages, because there won’t be another opportunity before suppertime, unless That Other Driver turns up before 2:30 ready to drive Kathleen to the stable.
Since I had nothing to watch (fingers crossed behind my back) I went to the library and got five more DVDs that I had requested online. I decided to try that and see if the mistake level could drop. Surprise, surprise. They were all ready for me, including the ones I requested this morning.
I had watched the first Harry Potter and it was tense enough for me to find excuses to stop it and walk away for a few minutes. I had forgotten how really well those movies were made!
Somehow, I missed Series 23 of “Midsomer Murders,” so I will have to request it for the next batch. But I did get the two favorite British comedies I wanted. The librarian told me they used “Are You Being Served” as the setting for “12th Night” in college. Somehow, I think it must have been a funny production.
I want some cake. I made one two weeks ago, but as usual, I had to give a good portion of it away. If I make it in the future, I think I’ll use disposable 8” pans and freeze one until I get the urge for cake again. Which I don’t need, and will have to make from scratch, once I start on the keto diet. Almond flour instead of wheat flour.
What kind of cake did Vlad make? What will accompany the sausages? Food is so fascinating—can’t figure out why I’m dwindling....
