Tom lives about 15 minutes away ... 3 or 4 miles. He and his roommate were here yesterday afternoon when I got home from the GeoBee with Vlad and Frank. Tom was writing a thank-you note to his grandmother, and Tucker was filling out some forms regarding their county water service.
“I can’t do any more of this here,” said Tucker. “We need to go home and see if the lawn has a sub-surface sprinkler system!” Ah, adulthood!
Tom said he’ll let me know if they need additional cooking pots or other household stuff. I said we’d get him a few things once they figure out what came with the house and what they’ll want to use.
Meanwhile, Shannon is enjoying the empty room!
Yard sales and thrift stores are great places to find cook- and bakeware. I found a lot of stuff at yard sales, some of which I still have.
The rest however, I bought when the cost of living wasn’t so outrageous and I was able to have a little money left over at the end of payday. Now, not so much.
Yes, adulting takes concentration and paying attention to detail! And monetary expertise. But don’t get me started! :o] Good luck to Tom and his roommates!
Good for Shannon having her own room! Temporarily.
