Erdog has visions of a new Calipahte with himself at the head. Quite a few years ago he pured the military of all the generals (a couple or more hundred) who were not on board with his plan. Turkey used to be secularist for a long since Ataturk, and was much better run. Then there was the fake “coup” a few years ago where the rest of the not-on-board military were “gotten rid” of one way or the other.
