My gut feeling is that this is less about Syria and more about Turkey/Iran, and about POTUS making moves against the Brennan faction of the CIA.
PDJT has been signaling an ability to work with Erdogan since the earliest days of his Presidency.
Remember: Obama/Brennan/HRC are in bed with Iran (cf $150B). Together with their media allies (particularly the Mockingbird, i.e., CIA media) they have set up the "Sainted" Kurds--residing on both sides of the Turkey-Syria border, as a tripwire to make sure NATO, via NATO-member Turkey, is never allowed to bother Iran very much.
Our great President is once more calling BS on their game. He is PREPARING--as a CONTINGENCY, if all else fails to stop Iran from obtaining nukes, for a Turkish-led GROUND invasion of Iran. (This fact would not be lost on Iran; hence, may also play a pivotal role in negotiating a deal.)
What triggered me to this interpretation was watching unofficial spokesmen for the Trump Administration disrobe the myth of the "Sainted Kurds." They point out that the Kurds' actual philosophy is Maoist; and, they never help the USA except where it directly benefits their territorial claims.
Anyway, I think this maneuver with Syria and Turkey is analogous to Trump's crucial maneuver in S.A., shifting the balance of power in a heretofore secret war away from (clandestine) forces loyal to the Obama/Brennan/HRC/globalist side.
BTW, Turkey has been Spook-Central for decades, a center of CIA/NATO anti-communist intrigue, including numerous false-flag attacks in Europe as part of the previously secret Operation Gladio. So for them, this is probably business as usual.
Anyway, POTUS has given Erdogan a GREEN LIGHT to start moving against Syria and ultimately, Iran.
I believe the removal of US personnel from Syria also opens the theater up for much more serious Israeli attacks.
Somehow the withdrawal from Afghanistan and the moves in Ukraine are part of this.
