I hope she loses ... I am all for the ability to express yourself, but you cannot just badmouth a company for your own stupidity.

Especially when the company tries to give you your money back.

I wonder how many of these people call and complain JUST TO GET free stuff. How many business owners cave in and jut refund their money just to keep a perfect review record.

Any site that have reviews should allow a response from the owner, and the ability to have negatives removed by a 3rd party.

And then there is the problem that the socialist judiciary sees small businesses are part of the great corporate behemoth conspiracy to rip off consumers, especially if they try to line their pockets by making a reasonable profit. Did they disclose to the customer that they were charging profits in their services. No - well they are guilty of deceptive business practices.

Our justice system is hosed up every which way, and any sane businessman goes way way out of his way not to get sucked into it.

“but you cannot just badmouth a company for your own stupidity.”

Uh, YEAH you can!

Unless you can cite the part of the constitution where that is forbidden.

You obviously haven't worked in a retail enviro.

It's not nearly everybody, but the ones that do, do it again and again.

So...there is a law that requires any comments about a business to be fact-based only? If someone leaves a glowing review and it isn’t entirely accurate, could they be sued for false advertising?

Reviews are one person’s opinion, and that is taken into account by readers. I don’t refuse to buy something at Amazon because of a few bad reviews, nor buy it because there are a few positive. I assume some reviews are frauds and others mistaken and SOME will have worthwhile information.

Yelp? I wouldn’t trust ANY review on Yelp.
