A .177 cal. lead hollow point pellet is a whole lot less likely to ricochet than a copper BB.

I use a Gamo that throws a .22 hollow point pellet at 1300ft/s or so...takes
their fuzzy little heads clean off at 100 feet. Sometimes I even have the
honor of seeing the pink mist in the scope.
