There is one other issue. From what I have read the “smart meters” have a tendency to catch fire when there is a power surge.
Watch for homes to burn when the power restarts.
Most people don’t know they need to strip their breaker box and when power is restored to bring on circuits one at a time. Brown outs kill refrigerators. I remember parking lots full of refrigerators after Ike and Rita.
You know, just mounting the damn things on a pole a few feet from the house would solve the problem....
