So what are they doing about the schools with these power outages, having the kids stay home?

I may sound really stupid but it seems to me fires are started (or at least most of them) by humans.

These particular types of fires have been started from power lines that go down in strong winds, and because the area is full of dried out underbrush, it catches fire quickly and spreads unbelievably fast.

In essence, they are started by humans, because here it is from mismanagement and too many regulations. Completely avoidable.

You bring up something interesting; those schools are not going to get matching Federal funds for the kids NOT in school. Another setback due to the policies of leftists.

Greta should be so proud.

Back in the day, we’d have walked to school and carried on as usual. Today, walking to school is beneath kids today and they can’t have school because there’s no air conditioning. We would open a window but today’s schools have windows that don’t open. Makes so much sense when they’re trying to push green.

Yes-— cannot run a school with dark corners & no poer to run the mandatory computers they all have. They don’t read books anymore.

Parents cannot ‘go to work’ either....no power-—no power to run gas station to purchase more gas-—no power, period.

Friend lives in Nevada County. Power off for over 36 hours a couple of weeks ago.

No street lights. NO SALES EXCEPT FOR CASH. No bank open. School shut down. No offices open. No grocery store open. Local bars not open.....and on & on.

Fires human in origin:

Not with lots of forest/wooded land & high winds. Trees come down across power lines. Branches the same. Winds cannot be controlled. Then fires cannot be controlled.

When I lived in Grass Valley, in Nevada County, the sound of the ‘scout planes’ would bring us out of the house to see the direction they ere heading. Then, the Borade Bombers were following-—and we had to make judgements about loading horses & getting out of the foothills.

A couple of large fires had the Nevada County Fairgrounds & Yuba County Fairgrounds filled in no time. Calls went out for donations of halters—lead ropes—hay—buckets & persons to attend to the influx of horses & other critters.
