We are far too apt to place partitions in our history books and somehow want to believe that once a major event in history ceases, that we began with a blank page and all is new again. However, the fact is that great leaders of great countries have long memories and remember who was with and who was not with our nations during long ago events like WWII and the Normandy invasion. The leaders who can remember history and make the exact right decision at the right moment are few and far between, Churchill, Reagan and Trump are the few names that will be etched in history on our 20th and 21st centuries.

The goal of the left is to destroy America. By having our military get bogged down and consume it’s equipment in an endless churning of missions causes our strategic readiness to deteriorate. Getting our military out of these Locations and stage them for a global conflict with a highly well-equipped army, such as Russian or or China, is a much better strategy for America.

I think Mark Levin said something about this being an unprecedented action.

Did he forget about us abandoning VietNam????

I don’t disagree with you, but Trump might have done better in this instance by not explaining his decision at all, other than to say our troops had to be moved out of harm’s way.

The Kurds were heavily involved in the Armenian massacres in World War I. So, I have some sympathy for them today, but only some. They are Moslems after all, and might be characterized as the best of a bad lot.

This whole thing is messy and while I would like our troops home, doing so and greenlighting the Turkish invasion and likely genocide of Kurds is simply wrong. S

How many Freepers know all the sides to the intersection of Syrian civil war
And Iranian hegemony

And how they have all shifted and ebbed

Israel

Russia

Turkey

The Petro Royals and their divisions

Christians in Lebanon and Syria

The USA

European powers

You’d be surprised who on that list supported ISIS because they hated Hezbollah more

It’s a huge mess and we cannot fix it

I supportTrump totally. This is one of his few mistakes IMHO. Even so, at this point, he and his actions are the only things that can save our Republic from final decay and destruction, IMHO.

Watch the video of his entire comment.
He was quoting an article he had just read.

during the Iraq war, Americans were only safe in the Kurdish areas. We shouldn’t be trashing them or giving Turkey an opportunity to massacre them.

President Trump on Wednesday criticized the Kurds, saying they didn’t help the United States during World War II and that they were only fighting for their land in Syria during the battle against ISIS.

Notice how the media rewrites what Trump actually said to make him sound like a crazy person.

Turkey is said to have remained neutral during WWII. But when Stalin publicly demanded that they turn over the Turkish straits, because they were a young nation, and knew they had no power to deal with Stalin, they ran to NATO, and asked to become a member. Now they should be tossed out, and shunned.

We need to focus on:

1) homeless veterans in our own country.
2) military families coping with the death or disabilities of their loved ones.
3) military men and women at risk of suicide. (The rates are off the chain.)

There’s a good chance this whole thing would have been completely avoided had our military leaders simply obeyed his orders almost a year ago when he ordered a withdrawl from Syria.

The generals rushed in with schemes to earmark in exceptions for trainers, advisors, various contractors, etc.

They changed almost nothing. And now here we are, because the US military now openly ignores the Commander in Chief.

Best part of Trump’s speech as to why these endless wars weigh heavy on him. Talks about being with the parents when the bodies are unloaded off the military cargo plane. Very sad stuff....

The Kurds ‘didn’t help us’ in Normandy

Did we ask them and they said no?

Remember that?

Obama actually helped the Turkish Air Force slaughter Kurds on December 28, 2011.

Turkey's Attack On Civilians Tied To U.S. Military Drone

Did Lindsey Graham ever put on his big boy pants and whine about that?

So the Kurds are allies, and because they are a part of NATO, Turkey is an ally? Seems like a sticky wicket for the US and maybe we need to de-ally one of these two; and it seems like Turkey volunteered to give up pretending...

The “special forces” guy was way out of place opining to the media - if he actually is what he claims to be.
