I heard of babies turning up on people’s doorsteps with a note. Usually a couple probably someone the mom knew.
I never heard of them ending up in dumpsters until recently.
I know in Whitechapel over in England babies were left in the streets but back then the orphanages only took babies from homes not babies of single moms. So England got what it deserved.
