Penn State University is responding after an alleged letter from an alum criticizing the appearance of a football player went viral on social media.
One of the player's teammates shared the letter on Twitter.
The writer starts off by saying he and his wife are "older" graduates and follow all Penn State sports, and said "we miss the clean cut young men and women from those days."
The writer goes on to criticize the player's hair, saying, "Don't you have parents or girlfriend who've told you those shoulder length dreadlocks look disgusting and are certainly not attractive."
--snip--
Penn State responded to the initial tweet, saying," While we don't know the source of this letter or the authenticity, obviously its content does not align with our values. We strongly condemn this message or any message of intolerance."

“message of intolerance”?! They’re asking him to cut his hair. They miss “clean cut” haircuts. What’s intolerant about that?
I’ll bet that helmut smells real good.
Did they send a letter or condemnation for Sandusky? Or the alums who wanted his services.
Seems like if they get tackled by pulling on their hair enough they might just cut it themselves.
I’ll bet he wrote it himself.
Reading into something that just isnt there. Smh.
Theyre very intolerant about about someones free speech.
I agree with the sentiment, but I think that a better argument is that they are dangerous for an athlete! I have often thought they could get caught during a tackle and possibly cause a neck injury. I would also think that they could cause the player to get too hot during summer workouts and the early games of the season. The same goes for the NFL.
The reply is intolerant against folks who like short hair.
Last Sunday, I thought I heard a NFL TV play caller say that it’s OK to tackle by grabbing the hair. If true, long hairs might consider a haircut.
Anyhow, the university is just another crap hole full of BS snowflakes. If you criticize them, they play the intolerance card, race card, homo card. ...
Note to PSU: Don't know...or don't want to know?
If this letter is a hoax, PSU better get out in front of this.
“Reading into something that just isnt there.”
...correct. The alum said nothing of color. Now it’s time to track down the alum and destroy his life I guess.
Yeah. Wonder what the NCAA rules on hair-pulling in the game are? NFL, your hair is considered part of the uniform so it’s fair game.
Ho...hum...college fball...completely sold out as entertainment...no longer rambunctious young men who are becoming smarter in subjects other than football...great to play...crap if it is your only life skill...
BINGO!! Anti-Social behavior will always get you in trouble!
