There are quite a few tanks named after a feline. The Panther tank, the Tiger tank, etc. But to my knowledge there are no tanks named after a canine. There is no Poodle tank, for example.
Cats are far more lethal per pound than a canine. An 80 pound dog is dangerous, but a healthy male adult may be able to out fight it. An 80 pound cat, such as a mid sized mountain lion, is far more deadly, and you would be lucky to come out alive from a fight with one. You have no chance against a cat your own weight.
Another way to think about that is to think about the chances of a single coyote vs a mountain lion. The coyote is lunch for the mountain lion, even if they are roughly the same weight.
