Jeff Beck Group did a kick a$$ “Going Down!”
Never cared for da boss - even before I knew of his politics. But I was in a band where the rhythm player was freaky for him. After doing “Going Down” several times I surprised the rhythm player by announcing to the audience that we were going to have a “battle of the brands” by playing da boss’s version first and then Jeff Beck’s version.
Except for the player being pissed at me for deviating from the script (he was a control freak) we carried it off well - the audience loved it. Jeff Beck invariably would win ;’}
