Oh, I totally understand the need for acronyms. My main question was if the mil call up for internal support for civil authorities would have to be requested by governors, or if CIC or other mil authorities could initiate it. Cvenger’s comment seemed to say the governors would not have to request it, depending on circumstances.

The ‘call-up’ can be initiated by either/or, both/and as either civil or NORTHCOM can get and use the guys. The two military orgs have taken the initial step, requesting the ELPOs.
