They go a bit far when they say he has little talent and has coasted on Star Wars. He has had a successful career as a voice actor and is considered by many to be the definitive Joker. But, that doesn’t erase the fact that he’s a grade A a-hole and has been for as long as I can remember. He was spouting his leftist crap back in the ‘90s.
There were plenty of voice actors that could best him, seriously. Having to fall back on voice gigs tells you where he was in the HW pecking order.
His voice gigs were not cast because of superior talent, they were because he was a SAG member with a known name. Other better talented voice actors were passed over.

Just about every washed-up celeb has had to resort to “Voice acting” (i.e. “reading”) when their career has gone down the toilet.
He’s not gonna get much mileage out selling autographs as Star Wars conventions, hence the attempts to regain any kind of relevancy by acting children.
You heard of of “Desperate Housewives”? Think “Desperate Celebs” when fame has long ago passed them by.
