Waylon snorted a dump truck of coke cause he liked it not because he hated performing

And what was so bad in Waylon's life that he resorted to such self-medication?

In defending some musicians as representative of all, you ignore the rampant substance abuse which one could say affects at least one main member of most major performing groups across multiple genres.

After Palmer he decided he was a woman, some talking head brought up the subject to Ian, during a random band interview.

His carefully phrased yet squirmy-uncomfortable response was hilarious.

To his credit, he didn’t visibly gag or cringe.

“We wish “Dee” the best” was the end of it.

I don’t know how far back you go but when I first heard the opening with the rain and all on the first Black Sabbath album I sat upright in my seat. I had never heard anything like it and I was hooked. And I have never done drugs or drank. That was 1970.

I had about the same experience as you. I first heard the first Black Sabbath album in the basement of my childhood friend's house around 1977. I remember being literally floored by it. I was barely 15 years old.

Discovered a lot of music that year in that basement including Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, etc. My friend had access to his older brother's record collection which was quite eclectic.'

No drugs though. We were into lifting weights in that basement. So this music brings back memories of doing bench presses and curls.

Speaking of Waylon Jennings. I saw him shortly before his death, playing the Topsfield Fair. Racked with diabetes, he got up on stage and gave it his all. He didn’t need the money but he clearly loved performing in front of an audience. I gained a whole new respect for him and his music still holds up very well today.

Thank you Sam

Some folks just like to project their own personal perspectives on the world

Waylon was very grateful for his fans and liked to give them what they paid for as well

He grew up dirt poor

Wet sheets on the windows to cool the house and keep the dust out so he valued the fact people were spending their money to see him
