I order a lot online now, but I have zero urge to bring that cute little talking Trojan Horse into my home.
If I had the need for a Smart Home, that would be different, but I do not. I don’t wish to be connected to everything all of the time. I never have wanted that.

I recently got an Alexa...and a light switch...for $29. It's kinda handy...I can even use it to lock my car and to find out how much gas is in it.I'm glad I have it. If there are additional capabilities added I'll consider them.

Nope... Someone else’s not mine. :)
I see the writing on the wall though, there will become a time when they are mandatory and it will be illegal go out the front door without one.

Especially as they have teams listening to our conversations in Seattle ...or wherever ...

People are crazy to do this.
These devices are really human spy-ware.

Remember when cars had that annoying voice, "Your door is ajar. Your door is ajar."?
That didn't last long. Who wants their house talking to them?

“Suddenly users will have three or four Alexa devices per person, per household, and that 100 million quickly grows to more than a billion devices, all of which track, monitor and offer immediate gratification of our every need. They will order our groceries, book our dinner reservation, play our favorite songs and more. All this will feed the data machine that enables Amazon to know even more about what we listen to, who we call, where we go to dinner, our favorite travel destinations and, well, pretty much everything.”
Not at this household. Take a hike, Bezos.

Amazon AMZN, -0.08% is building a series of new devices where we can wear Alexa in our ears, over our eyes, around our fingers, and keep her (it?) in our pocket. That leaves several orifices uncovered. So to speak. I can think of one in particular where Alexa should go.

Good to know I saved $29. My vehicle came with a gas gauge and a locking mechanism. And my house has a light switch built in.
