That nutritional analysis provided me with no answers.
What kinds of fat? Americans eat about 20 times as much omega-6 as they should, and nowhere nears as much omega-3. Grass fed beef is high in omega-3, grain-fed beef is not. The fats in peas and soy is high in omega-6.
Do these contain complete proteins? A balanced mix of all of the essential amino acids? Beef does, peas and soy do not.
How about the micronutrients? What is the B-12 level? How about K-2? Both are missing from peas and soy. Both are essential. (Actually, K-2 is missing from grain-fed beef, as well.)
Given the K-2 experience - where we changed our agricultural practices to essentially eliminate it from the diet, and only decades later realized that doing so had significant negative consequences on health (K-2 is critical to keeping calcium out of coronary arteries), I think we should all be quite hesitant to assume we understand just what we’re doing.
